Dacon Corporation has recently finished the expansion of Kula Bio’s Technology & Development Center in Natick, MA. The project included the addition of manufacturing, office, and laboratory spaces to support Kula Bio’s growth. This is Dacon’s second collaboration with Kula Bio, a six-year-old startup specializing in agricultural biologicals.
Kula Bio produces a non-GMO microbial product called Kula-N that serves as an alternative to synthetic nitrogen fertilizers. It has been reported to improve crop yield while minimizing environmental impact.
According to Kevin Quinn, CEO of Dacon Corporation: “The expansion of Kula Bio’s production facilities will enhance their innovative manufacturing processes and create unique supply chains within the agriculture industry. Better soil quality leads to better health for all individuals. Their efforts towards improving agricultural outcomes are crucial.”
In January 2022, Lowercarbon Capital led a Series A funding round worth $50 million for Kula Bio. The funds will be used towards building new manufacturing facilities near key agricultural producers.
Additionally, this year Agri Business Review recognized them as one of the Top Ten Organic Fertilizer Services Providers.
Overall, the completion of this project by Dacon marks another milestone for both companies and highlights their commitment towards sustainable agriculture practices.
