"Kingsbridge Armory Redevelopment: City Releases RFP for Proposals"

The Kingsbridge Armory in New York City’s Bronx neighborhood is currently seeking a new developer for its 570,000-square-foot site. The New York City Economic Development Corp is now accepting proposals for the redevelopment of this historic landmark.

With a promised $200 million from city and state officials, the project aims to bring significant economic growth to the Bronx by creating 700 permanent jobs and 1,100 construction jobs. The chosen developer must adhere to various requirements such as promoting sustainability, energy efficiency, and carbon neutrality while preserving the building’s exterior which holds landmark status. Additionally, at least 25,000 square feet of space should be allocated for community-based organizations at a discounted rate.

This latest development was announced through an RFP released by the city government with hopes of revitalizing this iconic location.
