King Street Properties has announced its debut in the San Diego market with the development of Mesa Labworks, a 60,000-square-foot speculative lab and life sciences facility located in Sorrento Mesa. The project involves converting an existing single-story building at 5825 Oberlin Dr., originally built in the mid-1980s and most recently renovated for creative office use in 2016. Construction is currently underway on two spec lab suites within Mesa Labworks.
Designed to provide turnkey solutions for laboratory space, Mesa Labworks will offer suites ranging from 8,000 to 15,000 square feet. These new spaces are expected to be completed by August and will feature state-of-the-art lab infrastructure within a prime location for life science companies.
Leading leasing efforts for this project are Cushman & Wakefield’s Mike Novkov, Bill Cavanagh and Brett Ward. “We anticipate that this new facility will offer attractive move-in ready options for various emerging and established players in the life sciences industry,” stated Ward confidently.
