Kimco and Macy's Partner for Small-Format Store in Santee

JLL’s Brian Quinn and Bryan Cunningham secured a 30,000-square-foot lease for Macy’s at Santee Trolley Square on behalf of the landlord, Kimco Realty Corporation. Dave Hagglund and Andrew Roth of CBRE represented Macy’s in the transaction.

Quinn remarked that “progressive retailers like Macy’s are expanding with different formats to meet today’s consumer demand,” noting that they were attracted to the strong tenant mix at Santee Trolley Square. Zach Blatteis, director of real estate for Kimco in San Diego added that this represents a significant victory for both the center and community as an iconic American brand unveils its innovative concept store tailored to modern shoppers’ tastes and preferences. The new store is scheduled to open in November 2020.
