Kidder Mathews has been awarded the leasing and property management contract for the historic Flood Building, a 12-story, 300,000-square-foot landmark located at 870 Market Street in San Francisco’s Union Square. The iconic property features 200,000 square feet of multi-tenant office space and 100,000 square feet of ground-floor retail.
Leading the property management efforts is Lori Coleman, RPA, while the office leasing team will include Jim Walker, Scott Vix (CCIM, SIOR), Martin Melbardis, and Kate Schmitz.
The Flood Building has been owned by the Flood family since its completion in 1904. Notably, it is one of the few major downtown buildings that survived the devastating 1906 earthquake and fire. It underwent a significant renovation in 1993 and today accommodates a wide-ranging mix of tenants from across the globe.
“The Flood Building is a living part of San Francisco’s history, and the family has carried it forward with pride and purpose for more than 120 years,” said Coleman. “That kind of long-term stewardship is rare and mirrors how we approach client relationships, many of which have lasted for decades.”
