"KC Entertainment District to Undergo $10M Upgrade"

The Power & Light District in Kansas City is set to undergo a major $10 million upgrade, led by The Cordish Companies. This announcement was made by John Moncke, President of the district, who expressed excitement about the project and its potential impact on downtown Kansas City.

The upgrades will bring new enhancements and concepts to Kansas City Live!, which serves as the heart of the Power & Light District. These improvements aim to elevate both guest and resident experiences while solidifying the district’s reputation as a top destination for entertainment and hospitality.

Some of these upgrades include exciting new additions such as extensive renovations. In addition, several new tenants have recently joined the district’s lineup, including popular eateries HomeGrown and Modern Market. More tenant openings are also planned for 2025.

Construction on this reinvestment project is expected to begin in November with completion scheduled before March 2025 when it will coincide with one of college basketball’s biggest events -the Big 12 Men’s Basketball Tournament.
