Kalaveras, a fast-casual concept known for its contemporary take on Mexican and Latin American cuisine, has selected downtown Burbank as the location for its 25th restaurant in Southern California. The chain recently signed an 11-year lease for a 6,750-square-foot space at 221 N. San Fernando Blvd.
The ownership of the property, Al Liefer Trust, was represented by Christine Deschaine and Kyle Fishburn of Kennedy Wilson Brokerage. Saddleback Realty & Mortgage acted as the representative for Kalaveras.
This prime location was previously occupied by another restaurant which allows for a quicker build-out process to accommodate Kalaveras’ needs. According to Deschaine: “This site was an ideal fit both for Kalaveras and the landlord who had specific criteria in mind when selecting their new tenant.” By transforming this old establishment into a vibrant new dining option, it has brought renewed energy to this area.
Joining other popular food and beverage establishments such as Artelice Patisserie,Cafe Grano,Silverlake Ramen, and Over/Under Public House,Kalaverashelps contribute to Downtown Burbank’s growing culinary scene. The area is also experiencing growth in residential development with over1 ,000new housing units currently approved or under construction. This further solidifies downtown Burbank’s status as an up-and-coming destination.
