Kairoi Residential is embarking on a significant development project spanning over 100 acres of land currently occupied by an industrial storage yard between US 183 and The Colorado River. According to the Austin Business Journal, plans for this expansive project include more than 2,200 multifamily units, a 385-room hotel, nearly 1.5 million square feet of office space, over 20,000 square feet of retail space and a shopping plaza covering more than127,000 square feet (photo courtesy of Community Impact).
Additionally,the development will feature more than134 ,000squarefeetofrestaurant space,a27 ,000-square-footarts theater,andan8 ,500-square-footmusic venue.Furthermore,itwillincludea37 ,000-plus-squarefootcivic center.
To bring this vision to life,Kairoi must first rezone the two sites from limited industrial use to planned development areas.This request is setto be reviewed bytheAustinCityCouncillaterthismonthandhasalreadyreceivedapprovalfromcitystaffandthePlanningCommission.
