Kairoi Residential has announced plans for a large-scale mixed-use development on over 100 acres of land currently used as an industrial storage yard. The project, located between US 183 and The Colorado River, will feature more than 2,200 multifamily units, a 385-room hotel, nearly 1.5 million square feet of office space, and over 20,000 square feet of retail space. Additionally, the development will include a shopping plaza spanning more than127 ,000 square feet.
The plans also call for amenities such as over134 ,000 square feet of restaurant space,a27 ,000-square-foot arts theater,andan8 ,500-square-foot music venue.Furthermore,the project includesa37 ,000-square-foot civic center.
To move forward with this ambitious project,Kairoi must first obtain rezoning approval from the Austin City Council.The request is set to be reviewed later this monthandhas already received recommendations for approval from city staff and the Planning Commission.
