JV Secures $54M Loan for Charleston Mixed-Use Project

Cantor Fitzgerald and Silverstein Properties have partnered with Turnbull Development to develop a mixed-use project in Summerville, SC. The development will feature 365 garden-style multifamily units spread across three buildings and a 40,000-square-foot medical office building in an opportunity zone.

The joint venture secured $54 million in construction financing from SouthState Bank for the project. Situated at the intersection of Berlin Myers Parkway and Highway 78, this investment is part of Sawmill – a master-planned development spanning over 57 acres.

Sawmill will be anchored by Roper St. Francis micro-hospital and outpatient surgery center on two levels. It will also include a neighborhood grocery store as well as retail out parcels providing convenience services to residents and employees alike. The multifamily component offers direct access to Sawmill Branch Canal and Greenway Trail along with outdoor amenities such as pickleball court, dog park, pool, clubhouse etc., all located on-site for residents’ enjoyment. Construction of the multifamily portion is scheduled to commence in July 2024.
