JV Plans 950-Unit Quarry Heights Multifamily Project in Harrisonburg

The Frazier Quarry in Harrisonburg, Virginia has been rezoned by the City Council to allow for a joint venture partnership between Bushrod Investments and Birchwood Capital Partners. This approval will enable the two Maryland-based development companies to move forward with their plans for Quarry Heights, a residential community that will consist of 950 units including townhomes, single-family homes and apartments. The estimated cost of this project is $220 million and it is expected to create approximately 2,000 construction jobs.

According to David Strouse, President and CEO of Birchwood Capital Partners, the design for this residential program was carefully crafted based on existing housing types in Harrisonburg as well as anticipated future demand. Input from various stakeholders such as the City Council, Planning Commission and staff was also taken into consideration during this process.
