Union Square Partnership (USP), a community-based non-profit organization for the Union Square-14th Street neighborhood, has appointed Julie Stein as executive director. Stein will be responsible for enhancing the quality of life and creating a cleaner, safer, and more enjoyable environment in Union Square through strategic planning, fundraising and advocacy to promote its future growth.
Prior to joining USP, Stein served as executive director of the “New” New York Panel – an action plan announced by Governor Hochul and Mayor Adams – where her experience in economic development and urban planning was instrumental in driving initiatives forward. She is now looking forward to implementing USQNext Vision Plan which seeks to transform Union Square into one of NYC’s most accessible spaces.
“Union Square represents the heartbeat of our city—where New Yorkers come together to live, work shop learn & play,” said Stein on her appointment “I am excited about working with all members at USP team deliver core services that this neighborhood relies on every day.”
