Jonathan Rose Launches First San Francisco Real Estate Project

Jonathan Rose Companies announced the closing and start of construction on Hunters Point Shipyard Blocks 52 & 54, a 112-unit affordable multifamily housing project located in San Francisco’s Hunters Point Shipyard neighborhood. This marks an expansion of Rose’s West Coast operations following their real estate closing in Los Angeles last fall.

Sarah White, director of development for California at Rose commented: “San Francisco’s housing crisis continues to outpace the rest of the country, and we are proud to work with our community partners to bring this much-needed development into fruition while providing residents with amenities and programming that will help them thrive.”

The Hunters Point Shipyard project is all-electric and built according to GreenPoint Rating standards. Additionally, San Francisco’s Office of Community Investment and Infrastructure has provided $61.5 million in funding towards its development costs.

This new venture by Jonathan Rose Companies is set to make a positive impact on San Franciscans as it provides much needed affordable housing solutions for those living within the Bay Area region
