Johnson & Johnson Expanding North Carolina Presence with New Facility in Wilson County
Johnson & Johnson is significantly increasing its footprint in North Carolina with the development of a new multibillion-dollar facility in Wilson County. This latest expansion is expected to create up to 500 new jobs, reinforcing the company’s long-term commitment to the region.
This announcement marks the second major investment by Johnson & Johnson in Wilson in just over a year. In October 2024, the company revealed plans to invest $2 billion in a large-scale manufacturing campus in the area. That facility, which is currently under construction, is slated to employ more than 420 people primarily in advanced manufacturing roles.
At the newly announced facility, Johnson & Johnson will focus on the production of medicines aimed at treating oncology and neurological diseases, aligning with the company’s broader mission to address some of the most challenging health conditions.
In addition to its ongoing projects in Wilson, Johnson & Johnson also announced in August 2025 a $2 billion investment in a new biopharmaceutical manufacturing site in Holly Springs. That site is expected to bring 120 new jobs over the next decade.
These strategic expansions underscore Johnson & Johnson’s growing operational base in North Carolina and its role in advancing the state’s life sciences sector.
