John Fish and Weiners Settle $1B Back Bay Tower Litigation

A recent report from the Boston Business Journal reveals that the long-standing legal dispute between construction executive John Fish and his former business partners, Stephen and Adam Weiner, has finally been resolved. The disagreement centered around a $1 billion project to build a luxury condo tower over the Massachusetts Turnpike in Back Bay.

The lawsuit was initiated by Suffolk, led by John Fish, in October 2019. They accused Weiner Ventures of betrayal and greed for pulling out of their agreement to develop the property. In response, the Weiners cited budget concerns and lack of a guaranteed maximum price contract from Suffolk as reasons for their withdrawal.

After nearly ten years of development on this ambitious project at 1000 Boylston St., both parties have reached an undisclosed settlement to end their legal battle. The terms remain confidential due to partnership dissolution back in 2019.
