John Deere, a leading agricultural company based in Moline, Illinois, has recently completed the sale of a 234-acre parcel in northwest Lowell, Indiana for $7 million. The land will be used to build a massive 1.2-million-square-foot warehouse and distribution facility.
The transaction was announced by Coldwell Banker Commercial Realty who facilitated the sale of the property located at 2105 W. 181st Ave., near the border between Illinois and Indiana. The new building is expected to be larger than Chicago’s iconic Sears Tower when laid down on its side and is projected to bring thousands of job opportunities to Lake County.
Representing seller Hallmark Construction Company were Nancy Frigo and Nicholas Smith while Venture One , led by principal Mark Goode, will oversee development for John Deere. According to Frigo: “South Lake County offers great potential for growth with this type of project due its convenient location near major highways such as I-65 South and Rt .2.”
Strategically positioned at the southwest corner of I-65 South and Rt .2 , just minutes away from major highways connecting it with neighboring states like Illinois via Skyway Bridge which leads directly into Chicago; this prime parcel presents an ideal opportunity for future development in an area poised for growth.
