H-E-B, the grocery leviathan, is expanding to Dallas with two Joe V’s Smart Shop stores. This marks the first time H-E-B has opened locations outside of Houston. The Wheatland store is expected to open in late summer 2024 and the Buckner store will open in spring 2025.
Joe V’s Smart Shop by H-E-B offers a unique selection of products at lower prices than many competitors. Each store typically spans 55,000 square feet and employs about 150 people – half as large as their regular supermarkets.
In addition to Joe V’s Smart Shops and Mi Tienda stores in Houston area, H‑E‑B also operates Central Market stores across Texas plus an on‑demand delivery service called Favor Delivery that serves hundreds of communities throughout Texas state .
