Zurich North America has decided to sublease nearly half of its Schaumburg headquarters office space, according to Crain’s Chicago Business. The provider of commercial property-casualty insurance solutions and services in the U.S. and Canada is joining other corporations looking to downsize their office space by hiring JLL to market almost 362,974 square feet at 1299 Zurich Way in the northwest suburb. This building totals 783,000 square feet with Zurich leasing it all originally when they opened it for $333 million back in 2016.
A spokeswoman from Zurich told Crain’s that this decision was made after a thorough real estate assessment which showed positive operational and financial benefits for their business while continuing providing an environment that accommodates different employee working styles as well as encourages collaboration, efficiency and engagement within the workplace setting .
