CBRE successfully facilitated a 139,377-square-foot office lease for the General Services Administration (GSA) on behalf of Customs and Border Protection (CPB). The new location will be at One Aviation Plaza in Queens’ Jamaica neighborhood, where CBP will move from their current location at Building 77 in John F. Kennedy International Airport. The leased space includes the entire first, second, third floors and part of the fourth floor at One Aviation Plaza.
The previous tenant of this space was the Federal Aviation Administration. CBRE’s team consisting of Vincent LaManna, Richard Freel, Maria Kobe and Ralph Guiffre represented GSA/CBP during negotiations with building ownership. On behalf of building ownership were Jeffrey Sussman from Edward J Minskoff organization and Joe Brennan and Chloe Edwards from JLL.
According to LaManna: “This was a significant transaction for our federal agency client.” He also mentioned that One Aviation Plaza stood out as an ideal choice due to its proximity to JFK airport along with its top-notch security infrastructure provided by a landlord who has proven experience in creating modern headquarters – just what CPB had envisioned for their new offices.
