JCB Selects San Antonio for $265 Million Equipment Manufacturing Facility

JCB, the world’s largest privately owned manufacturer of construction and agricultural equipment, has announced plans to construct a new facility in San Antonio for producing telescopic handlers and aerial work platforms. This project is estimated to bring over $265 million in capital investment and create more than 1,500 jobs by 2028.

The company will build a state-of-the-art facility spanning 720,000 square feet on an undisclosed site covering 400 acres. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2024.

Founded shortly after World War II, JCB currently produces over 300 different products. The impact of this new plant on the local economy is expected to reach $30 billion within the next decade.
