JBG SMITH Preserves Alexandria Affordable Workforce Housing

JBG SMITH, in collaboration with the City of Alexandria, is dedicated to preserving the affordability of 500 units of workforce housing in Alexandria, Virginia. This effort will be carried out alongside the development of a new Sports and Entertainment District. Pending legislative approval, JBG SMITH plans to partner with the city to identify and protect at least 500 affordable workforce housing units in priority areas such as Arlandria-Chirilagua.

This commitment aligns with Alexandria’s goal to create 2,250 committed affordable workforce housing units by 2030. As part of their Impact Pool initiative focused on preventing displacement and securing affordable housing for essential workers, JBG SMITH has a proven track record working with Alexandria on similar projects.
