JBG SMITH has announced plans for a new entertainment district in National Landing, in collaboration with Monumental Sports & Entertainment, Virginia, and Alexandria. Spanning 9 million square feet, the district will feature a state-of-the-art arena for the Wizards and Capitals teams as well as MSE’s headquarters, media studio, and esports facility.
According to Matt Kelly, CEO of JBG SMITH: “The addition of this dynamic entertainment and technology hub to National Landing is a significant game changer that will greatly enhance the quality of life for residents, employers,and visitors in the area.”
Situated on a 12-acre site near prominent tech centers and educational institutions such as Water Parkand Surreal dining spots,the new arena aims to revitalize National Landing following Amazon’s selection of itfor their HQ2 location.
