"JBG Smith Announces Plans for New Office Tower in National Landing"

JBG Smith, the leading developer in National Landing, Arlington has submitted a conceptual site plan for a new office tower at 1800 S. Bell St., situated across from Amazon’s HQ2. According to Washington Business Journal, the proposed building will be 15 stories tall and cover an area of 312,000 square feet – representing a significant increase from its current size of 12 stories.

The new development will offer approximately 308,000 square feet of modern office space and around 4,000 square feet for retail purposes. JBG Smith CEO Matt Kelly stated that despite the ongoing impact of Covid on the office market which may last another five or ten years; there is still potential demand for new offices in the future.

In an interview with Journal , Potomac Yard CEO Matt Kelly expressed his optimism about future growth opportunities while acknowledging that it may take some time before they come to fruition due to current circumstances. This latest project by JBG Smith marks yet another milestone in their continued efforts towards enhancing National Landing’s commercial landscape.
