The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, a minor league baseball team, is investing $31.8 million in renovations for their home stadium, 121 Financial Ballpark. These upgrades are necessary to meet the requirements set by Major League Baseball.
One of the major changes includes a new video board that is almost 20% larger than the previous one, along with new ribbon boards and concourse seating for fans. The team’s long-term plans also include creating an enhanced club space behind home plate and a welcoming front porch and center field plaza.
In addition to these improvements, there are plans for a multi-level building in right field which will house the VyStar Credit Union Souvenir Store on both street level and concourse level. This building will also serve as an event space for banquets and meetings.
Overall, these renovations aim to provide fans with an enhanced experience at games while also meeting MLB standards. The Crustacean Nation can look forward to enjoying these upgraded facilities starting this season at 121 Financial Ballpark.
