### Jamestown Granted Approval for Major Addition to Birkdale Village
A $200 million plan to expand Birkdale Village has received a crucial approval. According to the *Charlotte Business Journal*, the Huntersville Board of Commissioners has granted rezoning approval to real estate investment firm Jamestown, allowing the development of a 125-room hotel, 150 multifamily units, 26,715 square feet of retail space, and a new seven-story office building.
Birkdale Village currently features approximately 250,000 square feet of retail space, 50,000 square feet of office space, and 320 apartments.
As part of the expansion, the new office building will span 175,000 square feet, including about 13,000 square feet of ground-floor retail. The six-story apartment building is planned for the site currently occupied by Dick’s Sporting Goods, while the seven-story hotel will be located near the entrance to Birkdale Village off Sam Furr Road.
