Bedrock, Bosch, Cisco, and KODE Labs have collaborated to launch the Urban Tech Xchange (UTX) in Detroit. This cutting-edge physical ecosystem provides a platform for startups and technology providers to develop and implement projects within a fully operational real-world environment.
The UTX leverages the resources of global technology giants like Bosch and Cisco, as well as smart building expertise from KODE Labs. Additionally, it utilizes data from over 19 million square feet of urban real estate owned by Bedrock.
According to Mayor Mike Duggan of Detroit: “The UTX will be an invaluable asset for our community’s founders and startups. It is exactly the type of partnership that drives innovation towards solving problems and creating opportunities for Detroiters.”
Modeled after the successful Detroit Smart Parking Lab – a collaboration between Bedrock, Bosch, Ford Motors, and Michigan State – UTX offers flexibility for startups to experiment with their solutions while showcasing them on this dynamic platform.
