"Introducing The Seng: A New Affordable Building for Residents to Move Into"

Structured Development, a Chicago-based company, is proud to announce that their new affordable condominium building, The Seng, has reached over 50% occupancy with 20 of its 34 below-market-rate homes either sold or under contract. Move-ins for residents have already begun.

The five-story development at 869 W. Blackhawk Street was designed by GREC Architects and is the first all-affordable condo building in Chicago. It is one of three residential communities in Structured Development’s Wendelin Park master plan which includes a mix of affordable for-sale, co-living and market-rate rental housing.

Named after Wendelin Seng who founded a furniture manufacturing company on the site in 1874 as an immigrant from Germany, The Seng offers two-, three- and four-bedroom units for income-qualified households earning up to 120% of the Area Median Income (AMI). Buyers must also be preapproved for traditional loans such as FHA or VA loans and certified through homeownership programs administered by the Chicago Housing Trust.

With its prime location in Chicago’s vibrant community and commitment to providing affordable housing options for qualified buyers through various programs like homeownership initiatives administered by trusted organizations like the Chicago Housing Trust, the success of The Seng comes as no surprise.
