Thornton Tomasetti’s Sustainability practice has appointed Prudence Ferreira as its new Vice President to lead the firm’s passive buildings consulting team. Based in Portland, Maine, Ferreira is an expert in passive building design with over 14 years of experience. In her role at Thornton Tomasetti, she will provide clients with services such as passive certification, compliance modeling, feasibility studies and curriculum development for projects ranging from healthcare and laboratory facilities to commercial and residential properties; schools; and historic structures.
Ferreira is a founding member of the Phius Technical Committee where she has been involved in developing standards for Passive House construction protocols since 2009. Prior to joining Thornton Tomasetti she was employed by BR+A Consulting Engineers.
