The city of Jarrell has offered economic incentives to Labatt Food Service in order to entice them to build a 150,000-square-foot distribution facility within the town. The proposed location for this facility is a 48-acre site along Ronald W. Reagan Boulevard, situated southwest of the intersection with County Road 237.
According to the agreement between the two parties, Jarrell will provide up to $1.3 million in performance-based incentives for Labatt’s construction project. This includes a tax abatement of 50% over a period of ten years (with a maximum value of $600,000), waivers totaling $200,000 for all development-related fees imposed by the city and an additional $500,000 towards infrastructure improvements such as constructing water lines on-site. In return for these benefits from Jarrell’s government officials and resources provided by its taxpayers’ money; Labatt must make investments worth at least $30 million towards construction costs and another sum amounting up-to-$12-million specifically allocated towards personal property expenses before July-31st-2027 comes around.
Once completed; this new warehouse estimated at approximately forty-two-million-dollars would create employment opportunities that could potentially benefit more than one-hundred-and-fifty individuals residing within or near-by our community borders here in Jarrell alone! As it stands currently though; there are already nine other locations throughout Texas where you can find facilities operated under ownership/management belonging solely unto Labatt Food Service – including Austin itself!
