California-based burger chain In-N-Out is moving forward with plans to open its first location in the Portland area.
The company has submitted applications for building and demolition permits for a new restaurant at 10565 S.W. Beaverton Hillsdale Highway. According to permit filings, the planned restaurant will span 3,886 square feet and include a drive-thru and outdoor seating. The new location will be constructed on a half-acre parcel of land.
To prepare the site, two buildings will be demolished. One is a 6,000-square-foot structure that previously housed a Mexican restaurant, and the other is a 3,500-square-foot former Hawaiian restaurant.
This Beaverton site is part of In-N-Out’s broader expansion strategy in the region. The company has also filed a land-use application for a location in Hillsboro, purchased a former Village Inn property in Tualatin for $3.3 million, and acquired land in Vancouver for potential future development.
