Illinois Quantum Partners with Silicon Catalyst to Support Quantum Startups

The Illinois Quantum and Microelectronics Park (IQMP) has announced a strategic partnership with Silicon Catalyst aimed at supporting quantum startups and bringing them to Illinois. This collaboration is seen as a major step forward in nurturing advanced technology enterprises in the region.

The Illinois Economic Development Corporation played a crucial role in facilitating this partnership. Under the agreement, the IQMP—a first-of-its-kind park specifically designed for quantum technology scale-up and related research and development—will offer infrastructure support, including lab space, state-of-the-art equipment, and other key resources. These will be made available to quantum companies that are part of Silicon Catalyst’s accelerator program.

Silicon Catalyst is a globally recognized startup accelerator dedicated to the semiconductor industry, with active operations in the UK, European Union, Israel, Japan, and Australia. “The growth of quantum technologies is accelerating globally, and Silicon Catalyst is growing to support the next generation of quantum innovators,” said James Lougheed, Managing Partner of Strategic Initiatives at Silicon Catalyst.

The Illinois Quantum and Microelectronics Park is structured to support a full ecosystem of businesses, researchers, suppliers, end users, and other collaborators. The park broke ground in fall 2025 and is expected to become a central hub for quantum innovation in the Midwest.
