"IL State Awards $10M Grants to Local Film Studios"

Governor JB Pritzker and the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity have allocated $10 million in grant funding to three local film studios for infrastructure projects through the Illinois Soundstage Program. The Fields Studios, located in Chicago, received $5 million while Fresh Films in Rock Island was awarded $3.8 million and Flyover Studios in Champaign will receive $1.1 million.

According to Governor JB Pritzker, there is a growing demand for film production space in Illinois. In line with this goal, the state has launched the Illinois Soundstage Capital Grant Program which aims to support studio projects that will boost its streaming, TV and film industries.

The grants can be utilized for constructing or upgrading soundstages and production spaces which will not only attract large-scale projects but also provide opportunities for local vendors and businesses to create jobs.

Lieutenant Governor Juliana Stratton emphasized that the film industry has deep roots in Illinois but now they are actively promoting growth as well as diversity within it.
