A smaller IKEA store, spanning 108,000 square feet, will be a part of the upcoming mixed-use development in Rockwall. This is significantly smaller than the traditional IKEA stores that typically require over 300,000 square feet of space. According to Javier Quiñones from IKEA, this new format aims to increase customer convenience and make home delivery more cost-efficient by reaching customers where they live and work.
The store is expected to open next year at Rockwall Heights – a 65-acre project located at I-30 and North Stodghill Road. The development will also feature approximately 350,000 square feet of retail space along with rental units for townhomes and condos totaling up to 485 units. Additionally, there will be various amenities such as restaurants, green spaces, and an amphitheater.
