IKEA Signs Two Leases in Greater Washington to Open New Concept Stores

Ikea is set to open two new urban-format concept stores in the United States, located in Fairfax and Gaithersburg of Greater Washington. The stores will span 4,458 square feet and 8,882 square feet respectively and are expected to open later this year.

Customers can meet with Ikea employees at both locations for home furnishing design planning services. Items purchased from the Pentagon City location must be shipped while items bought at Fairfax or Gaithersburg can be picked up directly from store premises.

The Swedish furniture giant currently has two plan-and-order locations in England as well as two comparable planning studios situated in California; it also owns two big box stores located within Woodbridge and College Park of Greater Washington area.
   Fairfax Corner is a mixed use development owned by Peterson Cos., which houses various merchants such as REI and Ruth’s Chris Steak House among others.
