IHO and C&C Successfully Complete Carlsbad Affordable Project After 12 Years

Innovative Housing Opportunities (IHO) and C&C Development, two affordable housing developers based in Southern California, have announced the opening of Pacific Wind. This new community consists of 89 units and replaces 22 duplexes from the 1950s in Carlsbad. It is located at 3875 Sydney Way in Carlsbad’s historic Barrio neighborhood.

The development process for Pacific Wind took over a decade to complete, showcasing the dedication of IHO, C&C Development, and the City of Carlsbad to provide high-quality affordable housing despite changing public sentiment and political priorities. President & CEO Rochelle Mills expressed gratitude towards all those who supported this project through its various stages.

Pacific Wind offers five garden-style walk-up buildings with two play areas for low-income working families and individuals earning between 30% -80% of the area median income. The community has already reached full occupancy with over 300 residents now calling it home. Situated near an elementary school, park, and active community center; it also features a clubhouse with leasing offices as well as resident services offices along with a multi-purpose room equipped with a kitchenette for events or gatherings; there is also an on-site learning center available for use by residents.
