In Riverside, California, Innovative Housing Opportunities (IHO), a leading developer of affordable housing, has recently opened its newest community called The Aspire. Located at the intersection of 3rd Street and Fairmount Boulevard, this community offers 33 fully furnished units for transitional-age youth. These include young adults who are aging out of the foster care system.
The Aspire not only provides affordable housing but also offers onsite educational services and programs through a partnership with California Family Life Center. This nonprofit organization has been serving foster youth in Riverside for over four decades. Additionally, this development is a collaboration with the Riverside Community College District.
According to Rochelle Mills, president and CEO of IHO: “Our vision for The Aspire was to create a launchpad that equips these young people with the necessary tools to achieve personal and economic success.” By providing stability and safety within this community setting, residents can plan for their future goals while receiving support from various resources available on-site.
