**Landmark Properties to Develop New Student Housing Community Near USC**
Landmark Properties has acquired a 22.35-acre site at 1401 Shop Road in Columbia, South Carolina, near the University of South Carolina (USC). The site will be home to The Walk on Shop Road, a new 825-bed, 196-unit townhome-style student housing community located less than a mile from the USC campus and Williams-Brice Stadium.
Colliers’ team of Sean Baird, Jonathan Holt, and Cole Cusmano represented Landmark Properties in the transaction. The property was acquired from Voltari Real Estate Holding LLC. Landmark is joining forces with Silverpeak Real Estate Partners for the development.
The Walk on Shop Road will be constructed by Landmark Construction, Landmark Properties’ in-house general contractor, with architectural design by Niles Bolton Associates. The community will offer a range of fully furnished two- to six-bedroom units.
Residents will enjoy a wide array of amenities including a swimming pool, Jumbotron, cabanas and hammocks, fire pits, grilling stations, a fitness center, sports simulator, lawn games, and a wellness suite.
The project is scheduled for completion ahead of the 2027–2028 academic year.
