The University of Chicago’s Polsky Center has joined forces with Portal Innovations, a venture creation and development platform, to establish the UChicago Science Incubator at Hyde Park Labs. This collaborative effort will utilize approximately 22,000 square feet of space and is expected to open in Q2 2025. The incubator aims to bridge the gap between early-stage ideas and commercial opportunities in fields such as life sciences, quantum technology, artificial intelligence (AI), climate tech, and energy tech.
According to Juan de Pablo, executive vice president for science innovation at UChicago: “This partnership highlights the importance of collaboration between academia and industry. By working together with Portal Innovations, we can better support our researchers in translating their scientific discoveries into real-world impact through commercialization.”
