**Capland Development Proposes Major Mixed-Use Project in Hutto**

Capland Development has unveiled plans for a major master-planned community known as The Gateway at Hutto. The proposed 257-acre development would be located just outside the city of Hutto, in its extraterritorial jurisdiction, at the intersection of East Wilco Highway and CR 137.

The Gateway at Hutto is envisioned as a dynamic mixed-use project designed to blend residential, commercial, and recreational components. A distinctive gateway bridge over a nearby lake is expected to serve as a defining entrance feature for the city and the development.

According to early plans, the project would include:

– 73.5 acres of open space
– 12.7 acres dedicated to townhomes (approximately 125 units)
– 67.7 acres for single-family residential homes (approximately 285 units)
– 29.2 acres for multifamily residential use (approximately 730 units)
– 57.6 acres of mixed-use commercial space, including offices, hotels, and conference facilities

Although still in the preliminary stages, Capland Development has begun the necessary review process with local authorities. No official timeline for groundbreaking or completion has been announced.
