**Capland Development Unveils Plans for Major Mixed-Use Project Near Hutto**

Capland Development has announced plans for a large-scale, master-planned community directly adjacent to Hutto. Dubbed “The Gateway at Hutto,” the proposed development spans 257 acres and will blend residential, commercial, and recreational spaces, serving as a prominent new entry point into the city.

Located at the corner of East Wilco Highway and CR 137, the project lies within Hutto’s extraterritorial jurisdiction. A notable feature of the development will be a signature gateway bridge spanning a nearby lake, underscoring its role as a visual and functional anchor for the city’s entrance.

The planned layout for The Gateway at Hutto includes the following components:

– 73.5 acres of open space
– 12.7 acres designated for townhomes, with 125 planned units
– 67.7 acres allocated to single-family residential, totaling 285 units
– 29.2 acres for multifamily housing with 730 units
– 57.6 acres of mixed-use commercial development, including space for offices, a hotel, and a conference center

Capland Development is in the early stages of planning and has initiated the project’s approval process with local officials. A specific timeline for construction and completion has not yet been announced.
