**Capland Development Unveils Plans for Massive Mixed-Use Community in Hutto**
Capland Development has announced preliminary plans for a transformative 257-acre master-planned community near Hutto, Texas. Named “The Gateway at Hutto,” the ambitious development is slated for construction in the city’s extraterritorial jurisdiction, located at the corner of East Wilco Highway and County Road 137.
The Gateway at Hutto is envisioned as a vibrant mixed-use community offering a balanced blend of residential, commercial, and recreational amenities. A hallmark of the proposed project includes a signature gateway bridge extending across a nearby lake, designed to serve as a prominent landmark and welcoming feature at the city’s entrance.
The proposed site plan includes the following elements:
– 73.5 acres of open space
– 12.7 acres designated for townhomes (approximately 125 units)
– 67.7 acres for single-family residential homes (approximately 285 units)
– 29.2 acres for multifamily residential development (approximately 730 units)
– 57.6 acres for mixed-use commercial development, including office space, hotel accommodations, and conference facilities
Capland Development has recently initiated discussions with city officials and is in the early stages of the approval process. While detailed timelines have yet to be announced, the project signals a bold vision for growth and development at Hutto’s eastern gateway.
