Hurricanes Targeting Major Entertainment District near Stadium

The popularity of large developments near major sports venues has been proven successful. These developments, which include bars, restaurants, retail stores and apartments, have sprung up around more than a dozen professional sports arenas and stadiums. Now Raleigh wants to get in on the action.

Recently, the city received a request for rezoning in order to create the Raleigh Sports and Entertainment District. This district is part of a $1 billion development plan proposed by Carolina Hurricanes owner Tom Dundon for the former PNC Arena site. According to reports from The Raleigh Business Journal , this proposal includes four subdistricts covering 4,000 residential units as well as up to 3 million square feet of non-residential space such as hotels with building heights reaching up to 40 stories. Additionally, there will be parking decks available along with open spaces for entertainment and dining options that will enhance tailgating experiences.

One specific subdistrict known as “Entertainment” covers an area of 27 acres situated between Lenovo Center and Carter-Finley Stadium while another portion seeking rezoning approval is located on Edwards Mill Road spanning over an area of 12 acres with plans calling for buildings reaching heights equivalent to those found in skyscrapers – at least forty stories tall.

Leading this project is Gale Force Sports & Entertainment – parent company behind Carolina Hurricanes franchise team.

The latest focus for Hurricane’s owner Tom Dundon involves creating a new hub within Raleigh’s bustling landscape: The Raleigh Sports & Entertainment District . This ambitious $1 billion development plan aims at transforming what was once just PNC Arena into something much bigger- complete with four distinct areas designed specifically around providing residents access not only living quarters but also plenty amenities like shopping centers or even places where they can dine out without having leave their homes! With everything from high-rise buildings standing tall enough reach skyward (upwards) forty floors all way down ground level; it seems clear that no expense spared when it comes making sure this project becomes a success.

In order to make this vision come true, the city of Raleigh has received a rezoning request for the proposed district. This area will span over 4,000 residential units and up to 3 million square feet of non-residential space including hotels with towering heights reaching forty stories. The development also includes parking decks, open spaces for entertainment and dining options that will enhance tailgating experiences. One particular subdistrict known as “Entertainment” covers an impressive 27 acres between Lenovo Center and Carter-Finley Stadium while another section along Edwards Mill Road seeks approval for buildings standing tall at forty stories high.

Taking charge of this ambitious project is Gale Force Sports & Entertainment – parent company behind Carolina Hurricanes franchise team who are determined to bring their latest venture into fruition within Raleigh’s thriving landscape.
