Hunt Companies Greenlit for Major Development on Austin’s Riverside Drive
Hunt Companies has received approval to move forward with an ambitious mixed-use development at 200 E. Riverside Drive in Austin, Texas. The project will bring three new high-rise towers to the site, with building heights reaching up to 600 feet.
The expansive development is set to include:
– 1.3 million square feet of office space
– Nearly 900 residential units
– Approximately 32,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial and retail space
– A 513-room hotel
Currently, the site is home to a 93,000-square-foot vacant office building constructed in 1970.
This planned unit development is part of a wave of new activity in the South Central Waterfront district of Austin. Other significant nearby projects include a proposed 480-foot tower at 311–315 S. Congress Avenue, as well as Endeavor Real Estate Group’s redevelopment of the former Austin American-Statesman property at 305 S. Congress Avenue.
