Hunt Companies Greenlit for Major Mixed-Use Project in Austin
Hunt Companies has received approval to develop three high-rise buildings at 200 E. Riverside Drive in Austin, Texas. The large-scale mixed-use project will feature approximately 1.3 million square feet of office space, nearly 900 residential units, close to 32,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial and retail space, and a 513-room hotel. The tallest building in the complex could rise up to 600 feet.
The development site is currently occupied by a 93,000-square-foot vacant office building, originally constructed in 1970.
This project is part of a growing wave of redevelopment proposals in Austin’s South Central Waterfront district. Other nearby developments include a proposed 480-foot tower at 311–315 S. Congress Avenue and Endeavor Real Estate Group’s planned transformation of the former Austin American-Statesman site at 305 S. Congress Avenue.
Hunt Companies, based in El Paso, Texas, is a diversified, family-owned holding company that has been actively investing in operating businesses, real estate, and infrastructure assets since 1947.
