**Hunt and Lincoln Selected as Master Developers for San Antonio Redevelopment Project**
Hunt Development Group and Lincoln Property Company have been chosen as the master developers for a major redevelopment project encompassing 400 acres around the Frost Bank Center and the Freeman Coliseum in San Antonio. The selection follows a request for proposal (RFP) issued last summer by Bexar County’s Coliseum Advisory Board, with Hunt and Lincoln emerging as the sole respondents.
The proposed master plan envisions 3.6 million square feet of mixed-use development to be completed over a 15-year span. The redevelopment will include residential housing, entertainment venues, retail spaces, hospitality establishments, and green space aimed at revitalizing the area.
The project could be partially funded by $311 million in county hotel and rental car taxes allocated for redevelopment purposes. Additionally, Hunt and Lincoln are advocating for the creation of a new tax increment reinvestment zone and a municipal management district to further support the initiative. Both financing mechanisms would require formal approval before implementation.
Overland Partners has been named the lead design firm for the project. Additional development partners include Joeris General Contractors, Metro Development Group, and EBF Development & Design Studio.
This transformational plan is expected to serve as a dynamic catalyst for urban renewal and economic growth in the San Antonio area.
