Hunt Development Group and Lincoln Property Company have been selected as the master developers for a significant redevelopment project in San Antonio. The 400-acre site encompasses the Frost Bank Center and the Freeman Coliseum, and is part of a comprehensive plan initiated by Bexar County’s Coliseum Advisory Board.
According to the San Antonio Business Journal, Hunt and Lincoln were the sole respondents to a request for proposal (RFP) issued during the summer. The master plan envisions the development of approximately 3.6 million square feet over a 15-year period. The project will include a diverse mix of housing, entertainment, retail, hospitality, and green space.
A total of $311 million in county hotel and rental car tax revenue has been earmarked for the redevelopment effort. In addition, the development team has proposed the creation of a tax increment reinvestment zone and a municipal management district. Both of these financial incentives will require formal approval from the appropriate authorities.
Overland Partners has been selected as the lead design firm for the project. Additional partners include Joeris General Contractors, Metro Development Group, and EBF Development & Design Studio.
This transformative development aims to revitalize a key area in San Antonio, contributing to the city’s growth and enhancing community infrastructure.
