Hudson Companies, in partnership with Housing Works and Broadway Builders, has officially topped out construction on The Lirio, a new mixed-use development located at the corner of 54th Street and Ninth Avenue in Hell’s Kitchen. The 145,000-square-foot project is set to include 112 permanently affordable housing units and is slated for completion in fall 2027.

In addition to providing critical affordable housing, The Lirio will also include approximately 30,000 square feet of office space designated for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) and 7,000 square feet of neighborhood retail space.

“As New York City continues to face a housing crisis, we’re proud to deliver a project that addresses a wide range of urgent needs — supportive and affordable housing at varying income levels, MTA office space that will help modernize the subway system and neighborhood retail, all within a sustainable building,” said David Kramer, president of Hudson Companies.

Designed by CetraRuddy Architecture, The Lirio is being built in collaboration with the New York City Department of Housing Preservation & Development, the MTA, and other partners. The project is targeting Passive House certification, underscoring a commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency.
