Houston Wins 2022 CRE Construction Crown

Texas has been the leader in real estate construction projects over the past decade, with five cities finishing in the top five. A StorageCafe survey found that Houston was at the forefront of homebuilding, apartments, self storage, industrial and office development since 2013. San Antonio, Austin, Ft. Worth and Dallas followed suit to round out this impressive list of cities for CRE construction growth.

Houston registered a whopping 55 600 units for single family homes permitted from 2013 to 2022 – an impressive number indeed! Additionally permits were issued for almost 90 000 new apartments during this same timeframe as well as 5 7 million square feet of storage space added to their inventory over ten years time span . Houston also ranks first nationally when it comes to industrial construction boasting 66 million square feet of new industrial space erected over these past ten years; second only behind office space which saw 27 million square feet constructed within its borders during this period too .

It is clear that Texas’ crowning jewel – Houston- has made quite a name for itself when it comes CRE Construction growth post 2022!
