Houston NFL Team Reveals New Headquarters and Entertainment District Plans

Howard Hughes Holdings is partnering with the Houston Texans to develop an 83-acre sports and entertainment district in Bridgeland, the company’s 11,500-acre master-planned community in Cypress.

Dubbed the Toro District, it will be located within Bridgeland Central, the community’s 925-acre urban core. In addition to the Texans’ complex, the Toro District is planned to include retail, restaurants, hotels, entertainment venues, multifamily housing, and medical space. The partners expect to invest $83 million in the project.

The Texans’ headquarters will span 22 acres and feature an office building, an indoor stadium, and outdoor fields. The training facilities will also be available for youth sports and community events.

Gensler has been selected to lead the design work.

The Harris County Commissioners Court has approved a memorandum of understanding for the Toro District, which is projected to generate $34 billion in economic impact and create 17,000 jobs over 15 years.

An estimated groundbreaking date, project timeline, and design renderings are expected to be released in the coming weeks.
