New Hope Housing (NHH) is moving forward on two new apartment projects, with the help of $50 million in financing from Amegy Bank, to create 300 affordable units for low- and moderate-income residents. NHH Berry will be located at 706 Berry St., featuring 180 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartment homes; while NHH Gray at 2604 Gray St. will have 135 one- and two bedroom apartments. Both developments are set to break ground in October 2021 with an estimated completion date of July 2025.
In addition, both locations will feature Bezos Academy – a tuition free Montessori inspired preschool funded by billionaire Jeff Bezos’ personal philanthropy – available to eligible families earning up to 400% of the federal poverty level through a random lottery drawing system.
